Straight after a warm and merry Xmas spent in family near Cancun, Mexico, we have begun our new adventure that will take us into more than half of 2010: Sailing across the Pacific, on a 14 meters long boat from Panama to Australia.
On January 5th 2010 we met our skipper for the first time, in a small marina located on the Atlantic coast in Panama. Jacques, the skipper, is French and is what we can call a real sailor: he worked for more than 30 years on the sea and has built his own boat: the TIN HAO. We met Jacques through a specialised website on the net, and have been chatting with him for 6 months regarding this big adventure. With Jacques and his wife, we will cross the Pacific and share a very deep experience, on board and onto the islands of the Pacific.
Our itinerary is the following (from Jan 2010 to July/August 2010): Panama canal – Galapagos Islands (Ecuador) – Marquises Islands – Tuamotu – Tahiti – Tonga – Fidji – and New Caledonia , where we will disembark and readapt to the other world. The sail between the Galapagos and the Marquises will last approx 25 days, with no earth at view at all.
The next stage will be to find jobs in Oz and settled down for a while.
We will update our website ONLY on the French version www.loladel.com, but do not hesitate to regularly check our pictures and / or practice your French!!!!! Also do not forget that we have a Wall section (Livre d’Or) on which you can leave us some messages!
Take care all and all the best!!
